Curtiss Cook Jr. (Manifest, Orange is The New Black,) stars as EVANGELISTE in the Chris Morris directed feature, The Day Shall Come, which is set to premiere at the annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival. Cook stars alongside heavy hitters Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect, A Simple Favor), Danielle Brooks (Orange Is the New Black) and Dennis O’Hare (Dallas Buyers Club, This Is Us).
The long awaited project – Morris’ second feature as director – is produced by The King’s Speech producer See Saw Films and U.S producer Archer Gray Productions, which has been behind films such as Annette Bening’s 20th Century Women and Ian McKellen and Laura Linney’s Mr Holmes and most recently, Melissa McCarthy’s Please Forgive Me.
The story follows an impoverished preacher hoping to free his family from jail the FBI’s attempt at making him a criminal.
